Breaking the Cycle of Incarceration with We The People Opportunity Farm

Wednesday, April 21, 2021

Today we sit down with Melvin Parson of We The People Opportunity Farm located in Washtenaw County, Michigan just outside of Detroit. Together Melvin and Megan discuss the story that put into motion a Non-Profit focused on helping give new opportunities and break the cycle of incarceration through farming and healing land connection. Melvin personally has experienced the cycle of incarceration and with the help of others was able to set a new path for himself. Today we hear his story and discuss the challenges within black communities facing these issues as well as how heavy the land and human connection can be.
